Beautiful things

I just love photographs that have that ethereal, romantic quality to them; and this is just another one to add to my faves. I wish I could wear something floaty and sheer like this everyday...

Kind of opposite from the romantic, frilly vibe is a jar-ful of messy glitter. The sparkly, shininess is just full of potential for arts and crafts! Reminds me of childhood and sitting at the kitchen table with my mom's bin of craft supplies--searching for the exact tool that was going to help me create my masterpiece.

Design Inspiration

Lately I've been trying to think up easy and not-to-mention inexpensive ways to fix up my bedroom. Thinking maybe I could make some sort of really, really cool looking collages or artwork or maybe pretending I'm super crafty and use fabric in some crazy awesome way--I thought "Yes! I can do this."

Then I came across this room. It so extraordinarily extravagant, yet cozy and comfortable. I want this instead.
Unfortunately, I don't think a collage made from magazine clippings is going to get me this...

Couldn't Be More True...

I looooove this quote...and maybe even more so love the design of it. Vintage-y cool yet simple and earthy. So presh! These words are another one of those phrases that you can just repeat to yourself when you're having a bad day. If you put your mind to work and forget about everything else, you already have everything you need :)

To go along with things that make me happy when I'm not feelin' so hot: this pic of this wonderfully arranged closet cheers me up...weird, I know! It's perfectly organized--identical hangers and all (one of my goals in life). The clothes themselves are also entirely covet-able, so girly and feminine...yes, girl and feminine mean two entirely different things in case you were wondering.
I love my neutrals..although I would probably swap out the pale pinks for some dusky grays, but all in all this closet is my aspiration.

So Incredibly...Perfect

Stumbling across Beth Lauren's website, I could not believe my eyes! What I was seeing was the absolutely most perfect collection of jewelry I have seen in my short twenty-one years. Each of her collections are artfully and thoughtfully connected, yet strong enough to stand on their own. I immediately thought "How does she know me so well??" Her aesthetic (which I like to think mirrors my own) combines that rock and roll edge with flirty, feminine details impeccably well.
This necklace uses different materials to create that bold edge, but then is glammed up with the large crystal at the center. Wayyy awesome!
If this bracelet isn't bad-ass, I don't know what is. Again, she combines different materials for that great juxtaposition of edgy and casual. Simply essential for everyday--for me anyways ;)
And yet again, this piece has a mixture of elements going on... slightly more bohemian-hippie than the other two, but still oh-so-chic.

Rope Me Up!

Lately, I've been quite taken with anything that's remotely sailor-esque. While at the beach, I find myself staring out onto Lake Michigan admiring the sail boats on the horizon. Oh, how I wish I could be out on one of them, putting my Sperry's to good use!

More than just my top-siders, I've seemed to be collecting an entire nautical-inspired wardrobe with lots of blue, white, and stripes! These sandals from Dolce Vita are just the ticket for my sailing life...or maybe best for apres-sailing. I wouldn't want these to get wet!

J.Crew Love

I am utterly and completely obsessed with J.Crew and its fabulous creative director, Jenna Lyons. Lately the catalogs have been styled to perfection, shot at stunning locales--making me drool with longing for the carefree-ness of it all.
"Jenna's Picks" are always right on target as wearable yet chic pieces and usually combine elements that one would not have thought of as making the perfect outfit--yet they do!

In print and online layers are key and it is done just so darn well! The juxtaposition of masculine and feminine is also always evident. Like this plaid shirt and shiny skirt. WANT. NOW. Please :)

Drum Roll Please...I'm Back :)

It's been forever but now I have lots more free time to write again!

There is something so beautiful, and yet, so sad about this bouquet fallen to the wayside...

I absolutely adore this pic. The colors are obviously awesome, but it is also words to live by--repeat to yourself everyday.

Thanks to my BFF4L, Becca, for sharing these awesome pics on her blog, so I could share them too ;)
